We seek the night to free ourselves, to become our truest selves without the burden of judgment and discrimination. In those fleeting moments, within safe spaces, the cosmos vibrates in a unique way, unleashing emotions that allow us to experience a shared sense of freedom and identity, transcending geographies, ages, religions, sexualities, and genders. Through music, dance, clothing, movements, words, and attractions, we break away from societal norms and from the shared jail where we are all fellow prisoners, as John Berger brilliantly put it.

This project, which has been evolving for over three years and includes scenes from various parts of the world, such as Spain, India, Mexico, and the U.S., explores that brief glimpse of reality that appears when we truly feel and let the torrent of anger, joy, despair, desire, vulnerability, and countless other emotions slip out. It is in these moments that we can move beyond the transparent wall of hyperreality—Jean Baudrillard’s concept on how our society is no longer built on what exists, but on an illusion of the illusion. We can transcend that illusion through the emotional and social dynamics of night-time gatherings, in spaces where freedom, expression, and identity converge. In these moments, we briefly reveal powerful truths about who we are as individuals and as a community.

Las montañas sueñan con el mar

Buscamos la noche para liberarnos, para convertirnos en nuestra versión más auténtica, sin el peso del juicio ni la discriminación. En esos instantes fugaces, dentro de espacios seguros, el cosmos vibra, desatando emociones que nos permiten experimentar un sentido compartido de libertad e identidad, trascendiendo geografías, edades, religiones, sexualidades y géneros. A través de la música, el baile, la ropa, los movimientos, las palabras y las atracciones, rompemos con las normas sociales y con la cárcel compartida en la que todos somos compañeros de encierro, como lo expresó John Berger.

Este proyecto, que lleva más de tres años en evolución e incluye escenas de distintos lugares del mundo, como España, Índia, México o Estados Unidos, explora ese breve destello de realidad que aparece cuando sentimos a fondo y dejamos escapar la tormenta de rabia, alegría, desesperación, deseo, vulnerabilidad y un sinfín de emociones más. Es en esos momentos es cuando podemos atravesar el muro transparente de la hiperrealidad —ese concepto de Jean Baudrillard sobre cómo nuestra sociedad ya no se construye sobre lo que existe, sino sobre una ilusión de la ilusión. Podemos trascender esa ilusión a través de las dinámicas emocionales y sociales de los encuentros nocturnos, en espacios donde convergen la libertad, la expresión y la identidad. En esos momentos revelamos fugazmente verdades poderosas sobre quiénes somos, tanto individual como colectivamente.
